Ray G. Hiten, 85, husband of Orva Vance Hiten, passed away Monday, April 9, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital.

A native of Harrison County, he was the son of the late Sel and Blanche Creighton Hiten. Ray retired from Johnson Controls and was an employee of the former Slone's Foodtown. He was a member and elder of Sadieville Christian Church and the Blue Grass Horse Pulling Association.

Survivors besides his wife of 59 years include three children, Mark Hiten, Rebekah (Larry) Walters and Jenny Hiten; three grandchildren, Hope (Joe) Arnold, Jessica (Andrew) Tackett and Jaime (Lucas) Moore; 3 great grandsons, Jackson Porter Arnold, Jonathan Parker Arnold and Steven Lucas Moore; three sisters, Cornelia Hiten, Mary Lou Hiten, and Charlotte (Tommy) White; one brother, Gene (Eva) Hiten. He was preceded in death by a beloved daughter in law, Brenda Howard Hiten.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Johnson's Funeral Home by Minister Scott Meadows. Burial will be in the Georgetown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jackson Arnold, Billy Wilson, Fred Cook, Carl Brown, Milt Pribble, Dave Osborne, Calvin Pitts and Larry Williams. Honorary bearers will be Matthew Vance, Richard Davis and the deacons of Sadieville Christian Church. Visitation will be 5-8:00PM Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Cardinal Hill Rehabilitation Hospital, 2050 Versailles Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40504.
